What It Does to Me

'What it does to me' refers to what kind of impression or emotion a certain subject or situation conveys to me. I am trying to show it with the help of a vanishing point that becomes perceptible by confronting two motifs with each other. My latest work 'Time (Sabi)' refers to the importance of time both in the context of the so-called Love Hotels and when it comes to corrosion. All pictures were taken in Tokyo. While 'Sabi' can mean 'rust', it also indicates the positively connoted imperfection of reality and real life. The two other series are called 'Vanishing Point' and 'A Certain Place'.
