My book explores the pivotal role of females in the Irish Traveller community. I have spent over 6 years embraced by this community, experiencing life, sharing stories, and becoming friends. I invite others to open their minds and hearts to different cultures. The Irish Travellers live throughout Ireland. They are recognized as an ethnic culture but are socially and politically stigmatized. In this patriarchal society, women marry young and spend their lives taking care of their large families and their tiny homes. A new generation of women is evolving - tenacious and resilient.
