The Japanese culture can be mysterious and founded on a series of contrasts in behaviour and morals. The results of strictness manifest in very private ways. It's almost as if there are a day and night to this culture. My images inflect this opinion of a dual notion culture, both overt and subtle, a coexistence of behaviour that might otherwise seem opposed to one another almost rely on one another for each to thrive. One never knows the complete story; the experience is very different depending on the side that is shared.
