The Trees of Lake Biwa

A series one year in the making. I began planning these images in December of 2018, and was finally able to make them a reality in early January of 2020. This location isn't a well known one, so I had to use street view on Google Maps to find this location. Despite Lake Biwa having an area of 670.4 km², I was able to locate the spot I was looking for within just an hour of searching. To achieve my vision, I had to combine both my 6 stop and 10 stop filters, and wait for the perfect light as the weather ranged from blue skies to downpours.

I'm a Canadian photographer from Maple Ridge, British Columbia Canada, currently living in Japan. I've made it my goal to capture the beauty of Japan, and beyond.
