Flying over the most recent lava flow on Maui I had a concept shot I was looking for; trying to incorporate the 10,000 foot Haleakala mountain into the background of the lava flow. I aimed the camera straight down and saw this beautiful image below with the sunrise light playing off the lava flow. Some of the best images come from accidents when looking for something else.
