'The Visitors' is a series begun during pandemic lockdown exploring ideas about transience, decay, cycles, and transitional states of being, with inspiration drawn from 18th Century scientific botanical indices such as the Banks' Florilegium. The image capture process for this series is extremely laborious and slow, requiring much patience on the part of the maker and turning the process itself into a personal meditation on time and impermanence.

Sharon is a multi-award winning photographer based in Melbourne Australia. Sharon grew up in Canada and has been creating pictures for as long as she can remember. Her first love was painting, but a school project to make a pinhole camera out of a shoebox sparked a lifelong fascination with the captured image. Her personal interests lie in art photography, analogue and alternative image-making methods, and exploring the psychological relationship between picture and viewer.
