My work with fresh flowers was in progress when russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. I couldn’t continue my work and my equipment was packed just in case of possible evacuation. The flower was dying because I lost the moment. Then I realized that it was perfect to capture it besides the situation outside. I unpacked my camera, did quick shots, and packed my equipment back on 28 February 2022.

Kate was born in 1989 in Kyiv, Ukraine. In 2012 she graduated from Université d'Auvergne Clermont-Ferrand I, France, with a master's degree in Management. She used to work in the international sales management field after graduation. In 2021 she obtained a Ph.D. in international economic relations and worked in the position of senior lecturer at Kyiv National University of Trade and Economy. Photography has been her hobby since 2010 when she bought her first camera. In 2021-2022 she studied at Kyiv School of Photography. Since then, photography has become her main occupation.
