In Chinese culture, the fifteenth day of the seventh month (lunar calendar) is called Ghost Day. During this month, the gates of hell are opened up and ghosts are free to roam the realm of the living where they seek for food and entertainment; thus the name Hungry Ghost. Both Taoists and Buddhists perform rituals to transmute and absolve the sufferings of the deceased. The Chinese believe that praying to the "King of Ghosts" at the ritual site would help to maintain proper order of the spirits that came for the feast. The photos was captured at Alor Street, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I'm an event photographer and graphic designer from Malaysia. Taking photograph is my passion since my college years. I just simply felt in love in this form of art; seeing the world thru a viewfinder. It is magical for me to capture memorable moments with my own point of view. Thankfully, the evolution of photography technologies helps transformed those moments into a digital medium which will last for safe keeping and easier to share to everyone.
