What does it mean to grow up? A series of self-portraits mainly centered around issues of identity and societal narratives. Certainly, the traditional sense of "growing up" entails fitting into society, embodying certain roles, and fulfilling expectations. However, my definition of growing up is somewhat different. Being 25 and queer, I have been suppressed my entire life. I remember as a little boy, I didn't know what it means to not fit into a specific gender, but I always felt like I wanted to play with makeup and colors. Therefore, growing up for me means radical acceptance.
