This is my personal take on the famous work of art by Caravaggio, Saint Catherine of Alexandria (c. 1598). My objective was to honor and bring back to life the remarkable painting, so I have maintained the overall composition and put into action the plethora of symbols associated to the subject, namely Saint Catherine. I have enjoyed creating a vibrant dialogue between two sets of complementary colors; the lighting pattern and the overall light vs. shadow (chiaroscuro) followed the Old Masters visual styling and signature.
