Even in a city like Tokyo wildlife is all around us. It may be smaller and hard to notice, but it is worth knowing where to look for it. At the end of winter when the early cherry blossoms bloom in Yoyogi Park, Mejiros come to the trees to feed on the nectar. At this time of year I too am drawn to the park to enjoy the first warm rays of the sun and the colors returning to the trees. That is how I first noticed them, and fell in love with those tiny green birds hopping around in the branches. So, for years I have been returning to Yoyogi together with them to take their pictures.
