The laurel forest on the island of Madeira is uniquely beautiful and has now been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is also called Lausrasilva, Fanal or Fairy Forest. Maybe because of the bizarrely grown laurel trees. During my visit, the lighting conditions were sometimes difficult, so I decided to try overexposure and monochrome. As a nature photographer you always have to adapt to the natural conditions. After the first pictures I was very impressed, so I shot a whole series.

I have worked passionately as a landscape gardener for many years. This means working creatively with nature and paying attention to the little things, because these little things can make a big difference in an overall picture. I have always loved photography and it has become my passion. I like to do experimental photography to see what effect you can achieve with it. Photography is art and art knows no boundaries!
