The romantic couple were standing in the exquisite Enid A. Haupt Garden on the National Mall in Washington, DC. He was trying to position her correctly so that he could take her photograph. Meanwhile, I took mine.

I am a native New Yorker, an audio editor, and the author of three non-fiction books, one of which, The Cowboy Catalog, became a best-seller. I have a degree in French Literature and Journalism from New York University, but my greatest teacher has been New York City itself. Exiled now to Washington, DC, my mind and heart still run on New York time. That means I love drama, action, noise, the off-beat and outspoken, the theatre of the street.
