There is a lot of intensity in this child's eyes. He is an apprentice musician in a band of Gnaouan musicians in Morocco. The Gnaouans are sub-saharan people who have been in Morocco for many generations and hold tight to their musical traditions. I often think back to this look of total absorption on this young man.
