The dead & dying litter the parched Kenyan plains, victims of a very efficacious predator, draught. The extent of proliferation is profound. Thousands of corses remain assembled, their casing intact, untouched by the death hunters & dealers in carrion, like vultures, hyenas & lions. Absent behavior crucial in maintaining the health of an ecosystem. Exacerbating the crisis & increasing the threat to wildlife is pastoralization, human encroachment, poor land management & desertification of habitats. This in turn creates conflict between humans & wildlife for the remaining limited resources.
