Kintsugi: The Beauty of the Imperfect is a project inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi - repairing broken pottery using gold, and the philosophy of wabi sabi - finding strength and beauty in all imperfections. The work is presented through the photographic act and the application of gold leaf in abstract forms as a reference to kintsugi. Each model has a flaw (visible and/or invisible) that represents an insecurity they have about themselves. My aim was to create a precious bond between a person and their flaw, and for love and acceptance to be born through that bond.
