On The Bathroom Floor - Dark Marble

I love photographing the nude form in a bathroom setting. I want to capture the interplay of the coolness of the bathroom materials against the warmth of the human body. The hard bathroom surfaces and the soft flesh of the form. My images are spontaneous and all informed by existing light. I am both photographer and subject. My photographs are studies and expressions of my form. I grew up in a strict household and for most of my life I’ve been uncomfortable being photographed and exposing my body - even at the beach. Now as a mature woman I’ve been working to challenge myself through my art, be comfortable in my body and present my form to the viewer on my terms. My shooting style is spontaneous, influenced by light and its effect on form. I’m drawn to the geometric shapes I see and work to capture that moment in my work.
