Ma - Absence That Manifests Itself

This photograph is inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma, and explores the power of emptiness, not just as an absence, but as a space filled with purpose and meaning. Ma is an emptiness with intention; it is not just any emptiness, but an absence that allows something to manifest through it. The white background, which might seem neutral, is actually a space of potential, waiting to be filled. And it is precisely this quality of emptiness that opens up space for fulfillment, creating a contemplative atmosphere and allowing the viewer to find meaning in stillness.

A resident of the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, my journey into photography began in 2021 when I decided to start studying at the Paço da Imagem School. Seeking to deepen and improve, I enrolled in the School of Visual Arts in Parque Lage. I am currently working on three projects. The first is aimed at passersby at airports. The second is cemeteries, the visual aspect, and the cultural and emotional meanings. The third is gastronomy. In addition to traditional photos, I do "glitch" editing, creating visual effects that break with conventional aesthetics, bringing new interpretations.
