While working on a different project in Shanghai last year, I encountered the undulating mirror surface at the Temple of Lights, a huge box, constructed for interior light installations. The distorted reflections of passers-by together with the interplay of light, shadows, and colors on the mirror surface sparked an idea in me. I began experimenting by adding my own color patterns to the reflections, draping materials around my tripod to impact light and shadows. I overexposed my images to focus on the undulating mirror effect, allowing the distortion to take a center stage.

With a background in surface science, I am drawn to details, patterns, textures, forms and colours that surround us and influence our feelings. They are the basis of my inspiration and provide the frames to my works. Through the combination of various camera techniques, I transform these frames and their colours into abstracts that bring my visual imagination to life. Having lived in a variety of countries I have the strong desire to bridge the gap of cultural differences and raise awareness to the beauty of nature through my works.
