The abundant rain, unusual for this time of year, led to an explosion of green throughout the bushveld. Everything is lush & dense, great for hiding & being hidden. After endless hours of observing the subtlest of movements & catching black & gold patches of color popping through a thick vail of green, this young leopard briefly broke cover as he answered his mothers call to join her somewhere nearby in the brush. Ten meters of dense marsh grass swaying in a non-directional breeze blocked any clear shot until this moment. Within seconds he recedes back into the surrounding grass & disappears.
