Kittiwakes are one of the most abundant gulls in the arctic tundra; they have a distinct call and light up the cliffs during breeding season. I wanted to create a series of photographs against the different backgrounds that showed where they hunt, breed and stop to rest - in this case upon an iceberg floating in the Norwegian fjords.
I started in photography during 2019 when I was gifted a camera - I had always been a nature fanatic and my background in observing and watching nature over the years enabled me to pick up and apply this photographically. Since, spending more time in nature I also want me photos to create a connection, increase empathy and importance for protecting those that can suffer harm through human behaviour.
