While visiting an art installation in Venice, I spotted an intriguing gentleman and decided to capture the moment candidly. I shifted to a vantage point that allowed me to include his reflection in a nearby mirror. Fortuitously, a strong floodlight cast a striking shadow on the wall, resulting in three distinct perspectives in a single shot.
Photography is more than an art form to Jean-Marc — it’s also a tool for understanding, structuring, and simplifying the world around him. In his street photography, Jean-Marc enjoys capturing candid moments that are interesting, funny, or have the viewer ask questions. He likes American contemporary photographer Alec Soth’s wording of the key ingredients: Light, Moment, and Magic. While street photography remains his central focus, Jean-Marc's work expands to other genres. However, the human element is a connecting thread in all his photography.
