This photograph was taken in the afternoon in the Marunouchi area of Tokyo. While searching for subjects in areas illuminated by the sun, I encountered a couple who appeared to be very close. At that moment, sunlight directly hit them, and I captured the scene just as they raised an umbrella to shield themselves. The silhouettes and the umbrella created a visually striking composition. I have a deep passion for monochrome photography, aiming to capture strong contrasts and offer a fresh take on street photography.
I am a Tokyo-based photographer exploring the relationship between light and shadow in urban spaces. I capture fleeting moments where energy and solitude intersect, using monochrome photography to emphasize the depth and contrast of the city. My signature series, NOIR TOKYO, portrays people illuminated by the city's lights and shadows, expressing the dynamic tension between motion and stillness. This series has been recognized in Monochrome Awards and 1x.com. Through my photography, I seek new ways to interpret the world, blending realism and abstraction to create compelling visual narrative.
