This photograph was taken in the heart of Asakusa, one of Tokyo’s old downtown districts, during sunset. I captured this moment as I was searching for subjects illuminated by the setting sun when a bicycle rode towards me, bathed in golden light. The way the shadows stretched and the length of those shadows, combined with the beautiful silhouette of the bicycle, created a composition that became one of my personal favorites. I have a deep passion for monochrome photography, and I strive to create new and bold street snaps with strong contrasts. This piece is a reflection of that pursuit.

I am a Tokyo-based photographer exploring the relationship between light and shadow in urban spaces. I capture fleeting moments where energy and solitude intersect, using monochrome photography to emphasize the depth and contrast of the city. My signature series, NOIR TOKYO, portrays people illuminated by the city's lights and shadows, expressing the dynamic tension between motion and stillness. This series has been recognized in Monochrome Awards and 1x.com. Through my photography, I seek new ways to interpret the world, blending realism and abstraction to create compelling visual narrative.
