The gathered leaf-like sampans resemble very low-hanging ears of rice, as if a metaphor for the optimism, enthusiasm, cordiality and modesty of the Bengali people. And on each sampan, it seems to have a story, and the owner of the story can be a boatman or even a passing traveler. The boatmen work at sunrise and rest at sunset, they shuttle back and forth in the long water, and breathe with the rhythm of nature. Under the canopy, there are their dreams, and also the testimony of their fate of wandering on this river day after day.
