"The Memory Shore" documents the post-tsunami years in northeastern Japan, known as Tohoku, between 2013 and 2023. The project focused on the small town of Rikuzentakata and the surrounding areas devastated by the 2011 earthquake and tsunami when the monster wave nearly flattened the entire municipality. Through photographs and written documents, the book weaves a narrative of a shifting landscape during the decade of recovery while illustrating the enduring trauma from the unfaithful event hidden beneath the surface.
