"Elements" was shot during extreme high winds and rough sea on the island of Mallorca, Spain, onboard a Bavaria C42 Sailing yacht. I was being tied to the boat with a rope while my camera was in a water case. Being exposed to the force of nature like this made me feel very small and it put all our every day struggles and problems back into perspective.

My name is Vivien, I am self-taught landscape and travel photographer from Bremen, Germany. I have been fascinated by the vastness, complexity and perfect interaction of this Creation all my life. Landscape photography makes me humble and keeps me sane because it reminds me how small I am in comparison to this giant and amazing planet and gives me a different perspective of my daily struggles. I want to show people how beautiful and incredible our planet is and that this beauty is right at our doorstep - we just have to open our eyes, hearts and minds to experience it.
