SIMILAR BUT DIFFERENT The purpose of my art is to express what cannot be expressed with words. Similar and different are two concepts, which can belong to a single element, or even to a single concept belonging to different species. The charm of the similar/different concept surrounds our whole existence and often creates love as it often triggers divergences and wars. This concept, which we face every day of our lives, is one of the fundamental concepts of our reality. All the elements we see in nature are similar but profoundly different and vice versa.

Pio Schena (Skaynah) is a visual artist and musician based in Bari, Italy. Pio earned his MA in Scenography from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, Italy, in 1982. He has been working in the underground movie industry and visual arts since 1980, particularly focusing on the link between music and film. In 1993 he explored the relationship between the artist and audiovisual media. Some of his films are archived in the Film Library of the National Short Film Centre of Torino. Until now his visual works and paintings have been featured in many exhibitions and film festivals around the world.
