I was away from home for two years, because of the war in my country. One day I decided to make a trip across Ukraine to see native towns and people, to feel new reality during the most dramatic time for my country. I was looking for a metaphor, the image, that could express my feelings of being homesick and at the same time afraid of coming back home. One morning I discovered these almost black trees near closed airport in Chernivtsi on the western south of the country. It was the moment, I understood it’s what I was looking for.
