It was the last evening of this particular visit to the Maasai Mara National Reserve and we were heading back to camp. I asked the guide to stop for a while, just so that I could take in the sunset for one last time. As I wallowed in the moment, a lone elephant traipsed across the savannah towards darker skies. I sprang into action and captured a series of silhouettes. In this shot, despite the distance and the rapidly fading light, the animal’s details remain razor sharp against the background.
