Miaohui, literally temple gatherings or translated as temple fairs. The early temple fair was just a grand sacrificial activity, but today it has evolved into an indispensable gathering and market activity during the lunar new year. People gather together to eat snacks, buy small commodities, and play amusement projects. However, due to the COVID-19, the temple fair has been canceled for four years, The 2024 lunar new year temple fair has finally resumed. People gathered together again to enjoy the long-awaited happy time.

Chris Yan, photographer, designer, was born in Beijing, China in 1981. After graduating from Communication University of China with a degree in art and design, he started working for a number of international advertising agencies. In 2013 he founded his own company, focusing on commercial design and art creation, and began photography. He mainly explores humanities and street photography. For the past ten years, he has been photographing in different countries and currently he lives and works in Beijing.
