My name is York Hovest from Munich/Germany. I gave a very personal promise to His Holiness, the Dalai Lama when I had the honour to meet him in Germany. My goal: The portrayal of Tibet. With all ist beauty, its culture and its people, with their unshakable faith even after decades of suffering. So I headed towards the Himalaya, all on my own on a forbidden journey. The following months became a mental and physical challenge. In the end it took me two expeditions and about 100 days to portrait the mystic country of Tibet, the life, the history and the dramatic fate of the people on the roof of the world,and to keep my promise.
