In These Mountains: Ethnic Minority Communities of The Vietnamese Highlands

Vietnam is home to 53 different ethnic minority groups, each with its own language, lifestyle, and cultural heritage. Most of these groups are dwelling in the highlands along the Chinese, Laotian and Cambodian borders, with its rugged mountains and beautiful, harsh landscapes. Balancing between traditional livelihood and modern structures, this ethnically diverse and culturally rich region provides a homeland for many communities, dwelling here since centuries. This ongoing project documents the ethnic minority cultures and societies of the Vietnamese highlands

I am a documentary photographer based in Berlin, Germany, working mostly on self-assigned, independent long-term projects. My work has been published in ZEKE Magazine, The Diplomat, Asia Times, The News Lens and Dodho Magazine among others, has been exhibited in group exhibitions in the USA, Australia, Greece, India, Ireland and the UK and is held in private collections.
