I always knew my mother’s decisions were for survival, and to thrive in new surroundings; yet I find myself in a liminal position of belonging and detachment from my place of origin – leaving me in a limbo state between Poland and the UK. Through compared documentation of familiar environments, I have identified contrasts and similarities between the two countries. The series searches for clarity through further study into my own life, the constant feeling of displacement suppressed into my sub-conscious, reaching out to me as I feel nostalgia towards my place of birth.
