Homes along Arkansas River stand flooded after heavy rains in May of 2019. Some parts of Arkansas saw the worst flooding recorded in history. Because of climate change, caused by global warming, it is expected that Arkansas will experience heavier precipitation during heavy rainstorms which will increase the risk of flooding.
