The Turkana Desert is considered to be the Cradle of Mankind, as the first Homo Erectus lived there 1.6m years ago.The Turkana tribe has survived through unimaginable hardships on the barren, dry desert. Climate change made the situation unbearable. Long droughts cause animals and people to starve, while the land is exploited by foreigners for its oil. Women suffer the most. They walk for hours in the harsh desert with their children to look for water and food.Their striking cultural identity and strength are breathtaking. As they appear in the lunar land , they are life, they are hope.
