Entomological nude self portraits depicting the transforming life-cycle of most insects: egg, larva instar 1, larva instar 2, pupae, and adult. A performatic approach to posing for myself fueled by the almost mystical (yet intriguing) nature of insect metamorphosis is the narrative basis to transform our perception of the human male form almost to an abstract image. This series aims to challenge our perception of the male nude body away from the canonical standard as a natural condition, often disregarded as taboo, just like insects are frequently rejected as the first impulse.
