Taking its name from Edgar Lee Masters' Spoon River Anthology, the work consists of an anthology of more than one hundred portraits re-photographed from tombstones. Spoon River wants to reflect on the journey the image takes from the photographic act to the context of its final use and also reflect on the privacy legislative void for the images of the dead people, that made this work perfectly legal. https://www.margaritaegorova.com/spoon-river/

Margarita Egorova (RUS, 1986) is a transdisciplinary artist, writer and new media researcher, whose interests move between physical mediums, such as painture and theater, and virtual mediums, such as digital photography and video, in search of cohesion between man and machine.
