SPIN originated through two emotional processes. Inspired by the Tamsui Lover's Bridge in Taipei the colors and patterns were created through in-camera multi-exposure. Stuck in Taipei at the start of 2020, my head was spinning about how to get back to our home in Shanghai. Post processing however was triggered in 2021 when we began to change our after Shanghai plans. Shanghai taught us what is important in life and that we had to go off the path that we originally chosen. The sudden realisation of the challenges that we were facing to make this drastic turn made my head severely spin.

With a background in surface science, I am drawn to details, patterns, textures, forms and colours that surround us and influence our feelings. They are the basis of my inspiration and provide the frames to my works. Through the combination of various camera techniques, I transform these frames and their colours into abstracts that bring my visual imagination to life. Having lived in a variety of countries I have the strong desire to bridge the gap of cultural differences and raise awareness to the beauty of nature through my works.
