The foggy atmosphere leads me to reflect on the coexistence, in the architecture of this unrepeatable city, of very different styles: Byzantine, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque. However, observing more carefully, one notices that the initial stylistic identity fades into a conservative stratification, which ends up constituting the true constructive identity of the various buildings. This happens regardless of the richness of the materials and more generally of the importance of the building from a monumental point of view. The urban fabric appears heterogeneous, but with strong unitary aspects.
