Looking back at my life, the brief chapter in Prague during the Russian invasion leaps out as one of the most significant moments. Then, my escape and several attempts to start over. A refuge in Austria, a hopeless stay in Switzerland, and a new beginning in Canada. Many days were murky, but I was young, strong and naïve enough not to be afraid. I spent weeks crisscrossing the city in every new place, searching for jobs. Seeking some relief, my eyes began to look for familiar objects and compositions, and my lenses merged these realities into one seamless body of work.
