a black and white series as an ode to time passing. in an attempt to capture the rawness of the textures (skin, foliage) and sensations (physical and emotional) i opted for a black and white render that i hope can help the spectator venture deeper into the picture. this series was taken during an initiative voyage i took to my native country in the caribbean after fifteen years of prolonged absence. in an attempt to share it and raise awareness on the current hardships our islands are facing, the title of my series echoes the words of Aimé Césaire on qualifying the Negritude Movement.
