Cancer Survivor

  • Prize
    Bronze in Fine Art/Portrait

    Mathieu Moindron

In 2012 only 3 days before her 28th birthday, Erika Fujiwara was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is now what’s commonly referred to as a "cancer survivor", trying to live a normal existence despite the great threat. Erika is working on a project: creating a photo studio to offer other cancer survivors a professional photo shooting experience to help shine light on the beauty of others. Always smiling, focused and enjoying the present, spending time with her has taught me a lot of valuable lessons. Erika, I’ll do my best to support you in your project!

Born and raised in France. Moved to Japan about 10 years ago where I’m working as a photographer/cameraman.
