Organiques Momifies is a photographic series that explores the decay of plant-based foods as they become detritus through the passage of time. In order to create this work I brought vegetables to my studio and allowed them to mature over many months, until they transformed by time into densely textured sculptural form. I then rendered these petrified objects, no longer recognizable as lemons or potatoes, with honesty and clarity, by shooting them under classic, natural North light against a white backdrop. This simplicity leaves the viewer free to assess the subjects’decomposed states without
